Historical Background
75 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, African Americans in Southern states still lived in a unequal world, and Hitler’s Master Race Theory was not helping. Hitler’s Master Race theory was saying that the Aryan race is superior to any other race in the world. World War II started in 1939, after Hitler took control of Poland and continued tell 1945. Around 1929, the stock markets dramatically fell and the nation was swept into The Great Depression, continuing through the war, and ending in the 1940s.
